Entry #6 End is Near

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen!

The topic for today's blog is the end of the semester.

Now quickly, i just want to mention that we did not have a fall break, which i found to be quite unfortunate, but we do have an incredibly long winter break, even though it is because we have to sign up for another semester, but nonetheless, we have like a whole month.

Now, with the semester coming to a close, the one thing i fear most is procrastination. I feel like i have done such a great job these first couple months and i can perhaps let off the gas pedal and give myself a little break. Everyone probably feels like the same way because frankly, it isn't fun working your butt off for months and continuing to do so from here until you retire. With that being said, i hope everyone in school continues to strive and do their best regardless of what day it is or how close it is to the end.

To another point, i am absolutely excited for winter break, what do you guys have plan? I am definitely planning on heading north with my girlfriend so we can take a load off and get away from this absurd weather and enjoy the snow. Also, lots of Christmas shopping and eating cultural Christmas food is definitely in store as well. I am just excited to get a break and catch my breathe for a moment, a sign of relief if you will. Are any of you guys traveling out of the state of country or even continent soon? I would love to hear about it.

Overall, i think this semester went by fast and procrastination does tend to occur and avoiding is best, as you can see my contingency, i plan on doing my best to stay alive. This wraps it up for today's blog. Enjoy the rest of your day/afternoon/evening/night/morning, and i will see you all next time.

Entry #5 Behold, Our Future

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen!

The topic for today's blog is technology and its short term and long term effect on our society.

Firstly, the clip from "Wall-E" showed what seems to have a chance to be our world in the future and my initial reaction was that i could have predicted it to be similar, but i am astounded by how much everyone in that clip relied on technology, but I did indeed think that the setting was bright and wonderful, not to take anything away from the atmosphere. It just seems as if everyone couldn't take their eyes off of their own personal screen and interactions outside their floating chair was extinct.

This clip evidently shows us what would be if technology continues to prosper at the rate it is and if we continue to highly rely on it for every little things we do. Right now, it doesn't seem too bad, but kids are already beginning to know how to use technology even better than most adults.

One of the clip i liked was when the guy fell down and couldn't get up, and it wasn't because he fell down, but because he needed assistance from a robot to get up. It seems like he has never used his own energy to get up before and he was struggling. Imagine you fell down and couldn't get up, and now you're forced to wait for the assistance of a robot, doesn't seem like too much fun. Another scene that stood out to me was when Wall-E took away the lady's screen and she was absolutely amazed by the world around her, like she has never even seen it before. Assuming she knows her way around, it is as though she has been living there for quite some time now, and yet she has no idea the bright and colorful world she lives in. I couldn't possibly stare at my phone for more than 10 minutes, even if it is entertaining. Overall, the people seem to be very indolent and have a heavy reliance on technology for EVERYTHING, even changing into an outfit on what seems to be the new trend, being a blue jumpsuit.

Well that pretty much sums up my take on the Wall-E clip and my perspective on technology. Enjoy your afternoon/evening/night/day, and i will see you all next time.

Satellites everywhere!

Entry #4 Labor Day

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen!

The topic for today's blog is employment, particularly part-time jobs.

I found to believe that having a part-time in school is so so beneficial because it just makes you treasure the time you have into doing homework. Students that do not have a part-time job tend to procrastinate a little more and spend more time doing other activities because the jobless students know that they have all the time in the world. On the other hand, students with job are obviously more occupied and their time is more scarce. With that being said, students with job tend to get things done before the due date because they value their time. Also, having a job gives you that nice feeling of earning a paycheck.

I just got hired for my first job and i definitely noticed my time diminishing a lot throughout the week and it forces me to tune into my homework sooner and to disregard all distractions. I believe that having a job will definitely make students a better student and with that being said, high school students should definitely consider getting a job because they would obtain a better time management mentality in preparation for college.

Well, that sums up my take on employment and what can do to students. Enjoy your day/night/afternoon/evening, and i will see you all next time.

Entry #3 Let us Tweet!

Welcome back ladies and gentlemen!

Today we will the discuss technology and how it effects us, play a role in our lives, etc. Here I have linked a video for you folks to watch to get a better understanding on my thoughts about technology in use today.

Firstly, I do indeed use social media and I have found it to be strangely addicting, even when I am just looking at the same thing over and over and over again. I think social media has a large time consumption on human lives, especially those between the ages of 14-25. I usually have a tendency on checking my social media before my class starts, and I usually re-read a lot of content as well.

Now, I particularly picked this video to inform, in a somewhat entertaining way, about the effects that social media has on everyone's brain. The video mentioned something called the "Phantom Vibration Syndrome" and I can honestly say, that it has happened to be many, many times before. Especially when I have used my phone so much that day. Have you guys ever felt this as well? I believe most of you have, and if not, then wonderful, you're not so much into your phone. Even while trying to finish this blog, I am caught browsing my social media feed and it is such a constant distraction.

Social Media is booming and allows the world to feel "connected" so we can see what others see and how they feel thousands of miles apart. However, it has evolve to much more than that, as the world, so I do not single any group out, embraces it so much that we grasp it and make it our lives. We as a whole spend most of our times on it because frankly, it is effortless and provides us with great entertainment. I am curious as to how many times you guys check your social media, get on it, and use it.

That sums up the blog for today, and remember, social media is not that important, to a certain extent. Have a great day, night, afternoon, or evening and I will see you all next time.
